Programmer in Halifax, Nova Scotia
I am applying for the position of the engineering co-op, as advertised on the Dalhousie my career website. I am eager to apply technical and non-technical skills, I have developed during my time as an electrical engineering student. Some of these skills include time management, project management and designing new concepts using engineering programs. I was able to improve my project management and leadership skills during my engineering design project, which included a device to measure water level in a water tank. I took a role where I communicated with all members of the team, making them know that their opinions will always be heard and respected. Time management skills were also crucial when setting up meetings and managing to submit phases of the projects before a deadline. I was able to showcase my skills on SolidWorks during the detailed phase of the project, where I was tasked with designing the simulation of the water tank on SolidWorks. After a group meeting, I usually logged down improvements that were requested from the client and any other important tasks or points that were discussed. I have successfully finished this course with a grade of an A . During my previous job as a software engineering intern at a start-up company called Fian technologies, I worked alongside a group of fourth-year engineering students. I was able to reveal my problem-solving skills when I successfully helped optimize battery usage of the Fianbar by decreasing the number of electronic elements on the PCB and creating custom operation modes.
